Though our focus is on reproductive rights, we are committed to intersectionality. Our issues are deeply interconnected with other issues, and we’ll continue to be allies to organizations fighting for the following issues, especially when those issues overlap with reproductive rights.
Everyone should have the right to make their own health-care decisions, regardless of immigration status. No person should be stigmatized or driven underground by unfair or unreasonable anti-immigration laws or other barriers.
We stand to ensure that no matter what your family looks like, you have the ability to start or grow your family however and whenever you feel is right. Additionally, we understand that, especially for transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming individuals, healthcare that is accessible, affordable and respectful is not easy to come across. We will fight to ensure that everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can fully access the care they need.
Black Lives Matter
NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri is committed to being a steadfast ally to this movement and to working hand-in-hand with reproductive justice organizations around the country as we see the fundamental rights of women and people of color in America being violated repeatedly and with impunity. Economic inequality and unemployment disproportionately affect women of color, which has a deep impact on the amount and quality of care women of color are able to receive. We will continue fighting for ALL women to be able to easily and affordably access the entire spectrum of reproductive care, from contraceptives to abortion.
Seventy percent of the general public believes in a woman’s right to choose, yet an anti-choice minority holds a disproportionate amount of power in the legislature. In order to expand reproductive rights, it’s important that everyone is able to vote for policies they feel will benefit them and politicians who have their best interests in mind.
