2020 has once again dealt us a colossal blow. On Friday, we lost Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a champion of equality and justice. Already, anti-abortion extremists (ehm, Senator Josh Hawley) have their sights set on filling her seat with an ultra-conservative justice.

Between this heartbreaking loss and the constant flood of tragic headlines, it’s understandable if you’re feeling overwhelmed or helpless. But the truth is: you have more power than ever. There are actions you can take now to fight back against these attacks and defend reproductive freedom in Missouri.

So, hunker down, grab a snack, and let’s get to work.

Make Calls to Elect Bold Leaders

We’re in the final stretch of election season, and if you’re still wondering how you can help beat radical Right politicians in Missouri, this is it. Phone banking is the most effective (and socially-distant) way to connect with voters in key districts, help them create a voting plan, and get them fired up about champions of reproductive freedom.

Worried about what to say? No sweat. We’re hosting virtual phone bank training four days a week between now and election day. Head over here to sign up for a phone bank and make your impact on this election

Protect RBG’s legacy (and Seat)

Even as we grieve the loss of Justice Ginsburg, we must rise to the occasion to protect everything she worked for, including her seat. Republicans are already maneuvering to install another Trump ideologue to the Court who will finish their decade-long goal of gutting Roe v.Wade and reproductive freedom.

Here’s what you can do now to fight back: Call the U.S. Senate Switchboard (202-224-3121) or text RBG to 50409 and demand no nominee is voted on until we have a new president. We recommend you speak to YOUR Senators *and* Senator Tim Scott in South Carolina.

Pledge to Dismantle Systems of Oppression

The news about immigrant women coerced into forced sterilizations at an ICE detention center is horrific. But it’s just the most recent in a long history of this country’s use of reproductive oppression as a weapon of control targeting Black and Indigenous folks, Latinxs and Puerto Ricans, incarcerated people, and people with disabilities. This is abuse, and ICE must be held accountable.

You can speak out against these atrocities by pledging to dismantle and rebuild every system that causes harm to our bodies, our families, and our communities.

Join the Reproductive Freedom Front

We’re facing the biggest threat to reproductive freedom in generations — and yet the opportunity to turn the tide is right in front of us. Sign up now to join the fight for reproductive freedom as a virtual volunteer.

Whether you want to write postcards to electeds, share your personal abortion story, or make calls to block anti-abortion bans, volunteering is the first step to making longlasting change in Missouri. We need YOU fighting with us to protect our rights. Sign up here.

Support On the Ground Efforts

With abortion access at a stand-still in Missouri and assaults on reproductive rights happening at every level of government, we need to be prepared to fight back. You can do that by supporting NARAL Missouri’s work to protect reproductive freedom—the ability of all people to control their body and future.

Your dollars, no matter how small or large, decide how hard we can fight and how close we get to winning.

Don’t forget to send some love to SisterSong and Reproaction leading the fight or reproductive justice and healthy communities in Missouri and beyond.
