ST. LOUIS, MO — Today, the political arm of NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri announced its dual endorsement of St. Louis County Executive Sam Page and Assessor Jake Zimmerman for St. Louis County Executive. As lifelong champions for reproductive health and access, both candidates have earned the designation “Endorsed Reproductive Freedom Champion.” These candidates can be trusted to fight for Missourians’ fundamental freedom to control their own body, plan their own future, and determine their own destiny.
This announcement comes at a pivotal moment for the reproductive freedom movement in Missouri. Amid statewide and federal attacks on abortion and family planning services, these elections have the power to defend reproductive rights and ensure access at the local level.
“At a time when reproductive freedom is under attack like never before, we need strong local leaders fighting to protect our health and secure our rights,” said NARAL Pro-Choice Missouri Executive Director Mallory Schwarz. “St. Louis County has felt the devastating effect of the Parson Administration’s relentless obsession with robbing Missourians of critical reproductive health care, and disregarding our health and safety in the midst of a global pandemic. As longtime champions for reproductive freedom with a track record of standing up for Missourians’ rights, we are honored to lift up the leadership of Sam and Jake in our fight to protect and expand our fundamental freedoms.”
“Sam and Jake have always been proud advocates of reproductive freedom. During his tenure as St. Louis County Executive, Sam’s bold leadership has ensured access to sexual and reproductive health care for all, and prioritized the health and safety of our communities during the COVID-19. Jake has been an advocate for reproductive freedom since his days in the Missouri House of Representatives. Missourians can count on these champions to fight tooth and nail for reproductive freedom for everybody”
“Every person has the right to reproductive health services and the freedom to control their own bodies, genders, sexuality, and lives as they see fit,” said St. Louis County Executive and candidate for re-election, Sam Page. “I’m proud to stand with NARAL to protect reproductive freedom.”
“So proud to have earned NARAL’s endorsement and to stand side-by-side in the fight for women’s health care and reproductive freedom,” said St. Louis County Assessor and candidate for St. Louis County Executive, Jake Zimmerman. “Together, we will fight to destroy the status quo and build a St. Louis County where healthcare is a right for everyone.”
